I had the same problem. You need the XP-setup-bootdisk.

Only 4 weeks ago XP Pro installed directly onto my SN41G2, though I did have
to do a little fiddling first to remove a master/slave conflict between my
HD & DVD - but that would have had to be fixed anyway.
