I purposely run all my CPU's at 60degrees ish. Hot, but quiet is the way I
like it (motherboards I mean)
AMD rate chips to 85 degrees I believe, not sure about Intel. As long as
BIOS warns you before this, there's no worries.
Before I got a m/b with overtemp shut down function, I once got my AMD
Athlon to go over the 99degrees that my temp probe went up to. Couldn't work
out why it kept rebooting... until I noticed the fan had stopped! Worked
fine again after coling down and is still going years later.
Don't let overclockers obsession with coolness worry you. Silence is golden!
