Lots of installation issues.

I did somehow manage to successfully upgrade the bios from A22A to A227.

The biggest problem now is that I cannot control the boot up sequence. I
simply can't find anyplace in the old or new bios where you input your
choice of boot device. I want the luxury of choosing where the boot up
sequence starts up... be it floppy, CD or hard drive. Somehow, yesterday, a
menu came up asking me of boot sequence. I can't remember what caused that
menu to come up nor can I cause it to re-occur.

I have two identical 80GB ATA133 hard drives on the highpoint raid
controller. They both are configured as MASTER and they are the only device
on the cable.

When I am asked to do a controlH to bring up the bios for the highpoint
controller, (level 2.34) it seems to acknowledge both drives correctly and
one of them is marked as the 'boot' disk as the primary on the master
channel and the other drive is marked as the 'hidden' disk as a master on
the secondary channel. So far, that all seems ok??

The system boots up with a simple c: DOS prompt because yesterday, I did a
fdisk and put a partition of these drives and then did a format /s. It seems
I'm stuck now. HELP!!!!!

My only other drive is a CD drive is set up as master on the standard IDE 0
controller.

At this point, I can't get it to boot from a floppy, or to boot from a CD.
If I ever get to the point where I can choose what device to boot from, what
steps do I need to take in what sequence to load XP?? Help!!

Please respond to:

Bios was upgraded from 2AA2 to 2AA7. Sorry for the confusion. --Greg--

The boot-up sequence selection is off the screen initially. The selection is towards the bottom of
the 'SOYO Combo Feature' page. You will need to scroll down to reveal it.

Go to Highpoint http://www.highpoint-tech.com/
pick up the driver version that match the Highpoint BIOS version on your
board. If you have the v2.34 BIOS then get the v2.34 drivers. Then unzip
the zip file directly to a floppy so that it retains the exact directory
structure. The floppy 'must' have a WinXP directory that contains the
highpoint drivers, and a file named TXTSETUP.OEM both in the root of the
floppy. WinXP will not install the drivers if it doesn't find
TXTSETUP.OEM to direct it to the drivers that 'have' to be located in
the 'WinXP' directory on the floppy, not on the root of the floppy.
