I shut down my computer & when I turned it back on it had a long beep & then
shut down. No video came up. I reset the CMOS & removed the CMOS battery
but nothing occurred.

This happened before when there was a power blip during a storm. The above
steps corrected it then.

All the hardware is working just fine.

Any help?

You may have issue with processor fan or FOC. If temperature is OK, check
for and clean any dust bunnies in the processor fan, go into bios and
disable FOC. Note that if fan fails: Poof!
What kind of fan???

I have a ThermalTake Volcano 9.

I will look in the case to see if it is dusty & clean it to see if that
takes care of anything. I have filters on all my intake fans to help keep
the inside of the case clean.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Just for grinns try cleaning the cmos battery and its holder with some

I've a Volcano 7; normally I operate with FOC off--but a couple weeks
ago, I flashed my BIOS to the most recent, and forgot to shut FOC off.
Which was fine--the machine was happily detecting the fan and booting
right up. Until tonight. Tonight, it's quite cool outside, and just
cool enough inside for the V7 to spin too slowly. But 30 seconds of
blow-dryer aimed at the V7's heat sensor took care of the problem--and
FOC is off again. Until I have the spare cash to buy myself a Vantec
Aeroflow.
