For any number of the reasons already mentioned in this thread, I
would suggest considering an alternative. You said "(i.e. moving)",
which would suggest you have contacts in the location you're moving
to. Arrange with one of them for a convenience address, then ship
your computer out via Fedex, UPS, or whoever. The cost of getting it
packed and shipped, at least IMHO, is a pittance compared to the
hassles you face in trying to take it with you on your plane.

[Plus, it lets you use your "carry-on" allowance for the things you'll
really need at your destination - clothes, shaving kit/toothbrush/etc,
etc., when the airline sends your checked baggage off to Adak, AK.]
