Missing some memory?

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion xt4316 from WalMart.com
(http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...&cat=3951&type
=19&dept=3944&path=0%3A3944%3A3951%3A4070%3A56813) . According to its
specifications it's supposed to have 256MB DDR SDRAM memory, but when I
check its properties (under 'Doze XP) it says it has 192MB RAM. First of
all, what is DDR memory--and does it explain the difference between what I
expected (i.e., 256MB) and what I got (192MB)? Or is there something wrong
with my notebook?

as you can see your video card is getting its memory from your 256mb system
ram, leaving you 192 for ram and 64 allocated to video card. you're a o k.
