When I try to boot up my tablet, it says the config file is missing or
corrupted. What can I do?

I suspect you will need to do a repair install of Windows. If it is Vista, boot
from the Vista DVD.
It may be an indication of a failing hard drive.

My laptop runs XP Tablet edition. There is no disk for it.

Which make/model?

The oem distribution disks are critical for tablet os pc's... most
shipped with them, some oems sell replacements... if you have neither,
you might see if it's possible to generate a restore cd set... it might
still be possible, but it would be worth the attempt.

If you don't have any of the above options, you might loose your tablet
functionality as there are no sources other than the oem's for the os
cd's a keys and we know some have already abandoned some of their models.

I have an Acer TravelMate C110. Acer doesn't sell the restore disks anymore,
and they want me to pay $60 to call their service center.

We all feel your pain... this "abandonment" has been a regular topic here.

afaik, the only firm options are those I posted although you might try
alternatives such as loading win7 or searching for an alternate restore
disk source.

Good luck,
