I am trying to put a 1.5" hard drive in my sparcstation 5. The top of
it is hitting the top SCA connector on the SCSI backplane. Is there
another backplane for these with 1 SCA connector, or some way to hack
it in there. Would it be possible to remove the backplane and then
just have a wire connect the hard drive directly to the motherboard?
Let me know if you can think of any solutions. Thanks!

It's possible to remove the top SCA connector and carefully snip off all
it's pins. Been there, done that ;-)

The only solutions are way way harder than just buying another drive
that will fit.
