I have removed my TC 1100 40 gb hdd and reformatted it via usb connection off
of my my Dell 5100 win xp laptop. Now when I reisntall the hdd in to the
tc1100 to attempt to reboot from my usb connected iomega dvd r/w with the
Original dvd reinstall disk my system won't boot from the DVD. I have set
bios to boot from cd/rom first.

Initially i got the "NTLDR is missing" error.

I know i need to either get system files on the hdd or dvd driver files??

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chuck

Sounds like the system is still looking at your HDD first.
Have you successfully booted the TC 1100 off the Iomega DVD before?
Are you sure the DVD reinstall disk is bootable?

Just checking some options to figure out what's happening here...

I beleive my external dvd drive is not working correctly due to a bad usb
connection.

I do have the boot order set correctly to the "cd rom" to boot first.

I don't think I have ever actually booted off of the iomega dvd drive before?.

My DVD reinstall disk is a HP Windows Tablet xp recover disk.......so i
assume it is bootable......but you know what they say about "assume".

I believe I need to test both drive and dvd on another system.......but is
it possible that the tc 1100 won't boot off of this external dvd or for that
matter any external dvd?

any opinions?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
