Just wanted to find out if anyone has replace the Dell
Optical USB Mouse with the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer
mouse. And if there is anything I should be aware of before
I install it. I am running Vista on a e521.
TIA

I like the Logitech wireless keyboard / mouse combinations. The one I
like the best, which I recently bought for my XXPS 410 is:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...ONTENTID=12130

The keys are very silent and have a great feel. The mouse has back
and forward buttons and others that I don't use.

Other Logitech keyboards are frequently on sale on tech bargain web
sites. I saw an older model, (lx 300?) that is pretty good for around
$30 with a rebate bringing it down to $15.

The new higher-end MS mice / keyboard combos use a curved natural
keyboard that I couldn't get used to. I can type on a natural style,
but now they added another twist to it that I don't like. Out of the
MS combos I like the 7000 -- despite the curved naturaly style it had
OK feel for typing. I still like the Logitech better.

If you are only looking for a mouse, Logitech has a great higher-end
one with what looks like an extra scroll wheel where your thumb would
be. It's kind of expensive just for a mouse though.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind for later. But I should
have said that I already have the MS IE Mouse. I had purchased it to
replace a older mouse on my XP system. Only thing is I purchased a
new Dell e521 w/Vista after I had the mouse. I like the Dell USB Multi
media keyboard that came with the e521. Its equipped with 2 USB ports
and thats were I have the current Dell Optical mouse connected.
I just like the curved nature of the MS IE mouse better, and it sits
a little taller on the pad than the Dell, thus filling my fat hand
better.
Just looking for info from others who might had done what I want to do.
Again Thanks
JDa
