I have a TP 760E with an internal floppy drive.
Is it possible to swap out the floppy drive and put in an internal CD drive?
Is seems like it should be possible - but how do you remove the piece of
pastic from the front of ththe laptop casing ?

From the TOP, the keyboard opens! Open the display fully, then put your
fingers on the same latches you used to open the display but this time PUSH
them back. This will unlock the keyboard and allow it to be raised the same
way as the display.

James

Sorry, I didn't make myslef clear enough the first time. I know how to open
the keyboard and get at the bays below, and I know how to get the floppy out
of its bay.
What is not clear to me is this: The CD drive is a bit longer than the
Floppy drive, and its front part looks like it should be flush with the
FRONT (not TOP) of the laptop case - but that means somehow removing the
piece of plastic that frames the floppy drive (the FDD bezel - part 21a in
http://www.entuidioma.net/parts/IBM760.htm) , which is part of the laptop's
case. I want to knwo if this can be done, or are there 2 different types of
cases, one for floppies, one for CD.

OK, my bad. Which model 760E do you have? One can accept an internal CD, one
can't (too thin).

James

I have the thick model. The internal CD appears to fit height-wise, but is
just a bit long
