[NEWS] New Zealand: "Apple NZ" selling distribution to Exceed

  1. From the Business magazine section in yesterday's New Zealand Herald (22
    June, 2012) ...

    Renaissance Selling
    -------------------
Renaissance, which used to have a monopoly on
national distribution of Apple products, will
sell its distribution division to Exceed,
halving the size of its balance sheet. Exceed
will pay NZ$2.3million in goodwill and about
NZ$570,000 for fixed assets. A shareholder
meeting will be held on 6 July to approve the
    deal.

Renaissance used to be "Apple New Zealand", for many years the only
official distributor of Apple products (as well as products from Adobe and
others) here in New Zealand. They also own the MagnumMac chain of stores
(now called by the silly name "Yoobee"), which are the closest New Zealand
gets to an official Apple Store.
