Sorry if the thread title is confusing...Now I've only just put together a computer out of parts I found lying around my home. I had 512MB of RAM in it and upgrade it to 1G using just one stick. Once installed and rebooted it worked fine but its not enough RAM to run the programs I'm using. I added another 512MB RAM to my computer but its only reading the Gig I previously installed. Now a cant specify when the problem began but I've done a few tests switching slots and testing both RAM sticks but i think the problem could be the RAM slots themselves. Theres no dust or buildup in or around the faulty slot that I can see....i dont know what to do...HELP!? The MOBO is a standard one without a specific manufacturer.
