My GF has a Dell Inspiron 6000 and she got the BSOD the other day. After tests it seems the hard drive is dead. She ordered another one and it appears that she got a Western Digital 2.5" 80gb PATA replacement for it, the problem is that the original is a Samsung 60gb SATA. I have a few questions...1) Can I just swap the drives or will the cables need to be replaced or anything else? 2) Since her computer won't even boot except into BIOS or from a CD, is there anyway I can use the Dell setup disk/recovery utilities and drivers disk to put windows on the new HDD, or do I just have to buy Windows again?
