Running ABIT IC7-G motherboard for about 6 years. Began having DVD/CDRom problems with plextor drive. Unable to see drive in windows MyComputer, drive not recognized by device manager, unable to add device.

Replaced plextor with ASUS DVD/CDRom. Same problem. Connected both drives as Sata1 & 2. In BIOS, both plextor and ASUS are recognized (as as IDE device 3 and 4 masters). In windows...nothing.

BIOS has been cleared w/Lithium battery remved. ON-CHIP IDE and On-CHIP PCI setting are configured coreectly to enable SATA1/2.

    Stumped...

Have you tried flashing the BIOS? It helps sometimes...
