TMD fans - All hype?

Anyone else try a 80mm case fan on an Aeroflow heatsink?

I put a 2600 RPM 80mm case fan on my Aeroflow just to see if that TMD
fan is all it's hyped up to be. I now have less fan noise and cpu die
temps are just as good, (maybe better need to do more testing).

Cheers,
Ed

I'm just using 1 screw on the upper right hand corner to hold the fan
into place with a little stickem on one side for now, the fan hangs over
the left and bottom side of HS, (get the picture?), the fan hub looks to
be pretty much right over the copper core of the Aeroflow.

One site that was comparing coolers and fans (before I even seen the
areoflow for sale)... his conclusion was the aeroflow is a great
heatsink even without the TMD fan.

One thing I was worried about was my A7N8X not booting with a
2500~2600-ish RPM fan on the CPU header, IOW how low the RPM can be
before the mobo will go into shut down mode?

1450! nice! I don't think I can turn off cpu fan detection on my A7N8X
v2(bios 1004), don't rem seeing that option. 600...? hmmmmm I guess
the next thing to try would be one of these 80mm thermal fans (1K to
2.5K RPM), I use one on a palomino XP200+ with cpu fan detect off and
the CPU is only a few C hotter under full load then with a loud 60mm
fan, 80mm is bolted on with one screw and hanging over the sides too,
voltage regulators and NB stay extra cool. ;p

Non dlx here.
I'll get a dual-deluxe next year (fall/winter) for me Opty sys. ;p
