Casey, to be a bit more specific, the touch screens don't use a digitizer,
but rather the same type of screens found on portable DVD players. So,
they're not active electromagnetic.
One of the problems that I've seen with these pen/touch screen Tablets and
UMPCs is that it's hard to write on them naturally. Resting the heel of my
hand on a screen often results in having that recognized rather than the
stylus or fingertip. This means that I have to write keeping the rest of my
hand away from the screen.
I'm pretty sure there's a market out there if you're planning on writing
your own, but it will require a pen if you're using a non-touch Tablet PC.
