is it possible to get components of the 'UMPC Touch Pack' for regular Tablet
PCs?

e.g. i could really use the 'Media Player skin' and 'Program Launcher' on my
full-sized Tablet when i'm using it on the treadmill.

if not, any other alternatives?

Thanks,
casey

The Touch Pack is exclusive to the origami (UMPC) Tablet PCs, Casey.

Casey, to be a bit more specific, the touch screens don't use a digitizer,
but rather the same type of screens found on portable DVD players. So,
they're not active electromagnetic.

One of the problems that I've seen with these pen/touch screen Tablets and
UMPCs is that it's hard to write on them naturally. Resting the heel of my
hand on a screen often results in having that recognized rather than the
stylus or fingertip. This means that I have to write keeping the rest of my
hand away from the screen.

I'm pretty sure there's a market out there if you're planning on writing
your own, but it will require a pen if you're using a non-touch Tablet PC.

Touch screen would be better for this, but all my Tablets have digitizers
....
so i'm just using a tethered pen, which will work fine.

The real problem is that i need the big button applications (which is why
the Touch Pack would be perfect).
So i'll have to make a WMP skin with big buttons.
As well as a program launcher with big buttons.
Can also increase the double-tap tolerance, add simple gestures, and stuff
like that.
Then it'll be easier to do some basic tasks with a pen.

Thanks,
casey
