Every time I start my machine, the background activities seem to go on
forever, making everything run at a snails pace. Checking in Task
Manager, I find the main culprits to be processes associated with
ThinkPad or Think Advantage.
Processes like; TPHDEXLG, TPHKMgr, tvt_reg_monitor_svc.exe, cssauth
are very active. Even when the activity cools down, I see those
processes are still active in the background whenever I open Task
Manager. Of course, the 'on-demand' AV keeps pace, checking their
every file read and write. Draining resources I'd like to put and end
to.
Is this normal? What could TPHKMgr have to do? I haven't set up any
Hot Keys that I know of. And the Registry Monitor, when no apps are
running.
Could some of them be stopped?
