Try moving sound card to new PCI slot to see if helps.

I've had this card a week and it has caused nothing but grief. I think the
wdm drivers
for this card have a problem and don't get along well with the audigy2
drivers. When I try
to record, the audio starts skipping and when I try to do the audio
initialization again, mmc
crashes. I have tried both MMC 8.2 and 8.8 as of today with a fresh install
of WinXP.

I also bought this card. I cannot get MMCC 8.2 to even install. I
use an ATI 128 with 32 megs....old card, but I don't do games.

My solution was WinDVR from Intervideo. It costs more than the card,
but it works.
