Hello,
I have a sun sparc ultra 60 that
the video has all of a sudden gone wacko on.

It all looks good as it's booting.. sun logo..
init...etc..

as soon as the Solaris login screen comes up, the
raster gets messed up. There are several horizontal
"bands" on the screen and, and the image is skewed.

It was all good last week, I don't recall changing
any video settings. Does this sound familiar to
anyone?

I'll probably run afbconfig and reset the video
mode just in case something got fragged, but if
thats not it, the only other thing I can think
of is reseating the video board.

If anyone has some suggestions, I'd love to hear
them.

Thanks,

If this is a repeated behaviour, the first thing I would do is hook up my
Ultra 60 with another monitor to eliminate this factor. If the problem
persists, then there is something defenitely wrong with your video card.
However, if the problem is gone, get your monitor replaced while it is still
under warrenty.

Thanks. It seems to be working now. I have one of those vga(15pin)->sparc
convertors and running the ultra 60 on a viewsonic 18" lcd panel.

After telling the viewsonic to "auto-adjust" a few times, it finally
picked up a setting it liked. Never had it freak like that before..
ho well.

Thanks for the reply, God
