After a fresh spate of lost cmos in my 6 month old K7S5A, I'm thinking of
changing motherboard. Does the pro version suffer from the same ailment?
It's a very cheap replacement and would suit my pocket. Thanks .

Ho Ho, I spent ages replacing , cleaning reflashing, praying and then all
was well for a few months and that lulled me into a false smugness!! It's
got me again though. I think I shall demote the board to back up machine.

I can't say what your current problem is, but I have a K7S5A Pro and it
works perfectly so far. I have had it for about 1 1/2 months.

ECS seem to have sorted most problems with the Pro but if you want a
good deal try the new,"Asrock" boards.

My pro version suffers from lost CMOS... battery is good, and its contacts are snug,
but the board still loses its settings about 1 or 2 times a month.

Had my K7S5A pro for about 3 months now, since changing to Win 2000 pro,
it's been steady as a rock. ( Had problems with win 98 SE)

Thanks for interesting replies, strangely enough since I first posted it's
behaved itself after losing cmos daily. Weird board.
