Depending on what OS you're using, you might notice a small speed
increase from increasing amount of RAM. With the AXP 2500, you're
prolly gonna notice the speed almost double

Worthy is in the eye of the beholder. my AXP 3000 processor costed me
115 U$D then the fan/heatsink and thermal grease set me back another
30 so total cost was about 145. before you look anywhere else, check
http://newegg.com or http://gearxs.com as these 2 suppliers have low
prices most of the time. Also, for a good deal on a fan/heatsink,
check out http://nexfan.com thats where I got mine from. Don't buy an
aluminum heatsink, copper heatsinks dissipate heat much faster, and
usually with less noise. The Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Grease sold on
nexfan works great, don't settle for OEM thermal grease or retail
boxed CPU's!

It should give you a decent speed increase. Also, the speed of your
RAM does matter. What speed is it? And what brand is it? No-name RAM
can have a huge performance hit on your system. Make sure your PS can
handle everything new also. You might already know this, but AMD
processors can heat up very easily, so you might consider a quality
heatsink/fan and Arctic Silver thermal paste as well. If I were you, I
would get a new mobo and buy an AMD Athlon 64 processor.
