USB SCSI adapter for tape drive with Solaris 8

I see that the Ratoc Systems U2SCX USB to SCSI convertor works with
Solaris 8 on SPARC. Does anyone know if it works with tape drives?
It does implement the USB mass storage specification.

I don't have an open slot on my Sun Blade 1500, and I'd like to use
the USB 2.0 ports for my tape drive if possible.

My Sun Blade 1500 is current with patches. I see the README for
the st driver patch says:

4828972 Add support for USB tape

Also, the USB and Audio Framework patch README has in it:

4905617 scsa2usb portion of fix for 4847099 needed for USB tape support
