Visualize C200, no serial Console

Hi,

we have a Visualize C200 w/o any Graphics Adapter; it's Console is a 700/96.

However, some time ago the Console stopped to work. It's connected to
the 1. serial port of the C200. We exchanged the cable and the Terminal
itself (both with known working ones), but there still is no output on
the Console.

According to the Docs, if I got it correctly, the machine is supposed to
*always* send some Data to the Serial Port 1 during boot (and e.g.
allow to change the boot device). However, as mentioned, there is no
output. Despite of that, the machine boots and works OK.

Does anyone have a hint? I'd really like to get the console working again.

Hi,

problem solved; it was a bad cable (was a straight one but the C200
required a Null-Moden-Cable). Now we have Console again :-) No Idea,
however, how the cable could have worked with the HP-9000 Machine where
we took it off.
