I've got a copy of w2ksvr with sql and ms dot net dev env installed. I can't
reinstall it because I don't have the original copies. It keeps locking up
where the system just freezes and I have to turn off the switch in the back.
I tried putting a drive with Win98 on the same machine and it ran fine for a
day or 2. (I thought maybe the processor was getting too hot). When I put
the w2k drive back in it locked up again right away 2x and then I let it sit
over night and it seems fine so far (its only run for about 1/2 now). I'm
going threw and copy some of the info from Computer Management to text files
like the list of hardware, drivers, etc. and the list of events for the past
week or so. Every time after I start it up after a few minutes I get a SCM
message: "At least one service or driver failed during start up. Use Event
viewer..." The system seems to be very sluggish until I hit the OK on this
message. My next step is to try to install the w2k drive in another machine,
then if it works fine then try swapping other hardware like the video card
for starts. Anybody have any ideas? Sorry for the lengthy post. I have a
website I can post stuff to if anyone wants to see anymore info. Sure would
hate to have to reformat this drive. I guess I could just buy a copy of
w2ksvr.

Dan
