Hello All

When I start-up my computer my scanner(HP 3970) fails to "wake up" (also
pressing any
of the front-side buttons gives no response) and I have tried all the fixes
on the HP website and I have talked to a tech but gave me little more advise
than the suggested fixes on the site. I am running Win XP sp1 2002 ver. and
am connecting the scanner through my USB port (I am not using a hub) . I
have already disabled power management to the USB ports but it did not help.
Has anyone else seen this type problem and/or does anyone have a solution to
this problem?

Thanks Much
JohnB

Same here.

I think the HP software is TERRIBLE. So I used the (Fiddly to install
off the HP CD) ones - these had the same problem. After a reboot, the
Scanner could not be used. (Error communicating with TWAIN device or
something)

Dont know how to fix it yet. I am investigating.

Thanks,

#C

I have exactly the same configuration, went through the same steps,
spent over an hour on the phone with a tech, and have yet to get it
resolved. If you do, please shoot me a note!
