I would really reconsider RAID. In my own experience, I have seen no
difference in performance at all, but it introduces lots of
complications. Others have posted the same thing.
While Asus makes some good boards, the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 is a very
good basic board that you can get for $100.
The E6600 is about $230; the E6420, a new chip, is under $200 and also
has the 4MB cache memory system. You can get 2x1GB of DDR2-6400
(800MHz) memory for $100 also. There is no point in faster memory.
