Want to overclock my new build! (I'm new)

Ok, this is my first time overclocking anything when it comes t
computer components. However, I built this computer to be overclocke
(This is why I bought water cooling). I chose this water cooler becaus
of a review I read on TechPowerUp.com.

Anyway, I was wanting to "safely" overclock my processor and my ram.
put safely in quotation marks because I understand that there really i
no safe overclock. Anyway my system specs are in my drop down. I wa
wanting to overclock from 2.4GHz to around 3.0GHz.

My Bios verison is.... 12DC1-NVISTA-100R for INTEL Ver. 1.0


Please help


Also Gigabyte made a program called EasyTune5 2007.03.09 to overcloc
by updating bios setting from windows. Should I use this program t
overclock or just manually goto bios?

Thats nice........but your post on this group does not show your "drop down"
so we have no idea of what your working with..or against....
I have a Gigabyte N650Sli DS4 with an Inel Core2Duo 6420 and some lovely
Patriot DDR2 Ram.I tried the EasyTune program and did not like the results.
I have this board running at 8x400FSB with the Ram manually synced on Air
Cooling ..a Thermalright HR=01 with a 120mm Fan. Runs cool and quiet.
Passed 8 hour Orthos test and the temps stayed below 57.
So please describe what hardware you have
