Which is better to put in motherboard without problems? A stick of ddr 512
(2100) or two sticks of ddr 256 meg (2100)
Just curious. Probably won't make a difference. Any advice?

One stick of 512mb. One less component to go wrong and still leaves a slot
free for future upgrades.

I used 2 sticks of 256 for quite some time, had no problems, both
sticks were Crucial brand.

Have had 2 sticks of Crucial PC2100 in my K7S5A ver.1.x since Dec.'01
Used 2x256 modules for nearly 2 years, then 2x512mb DDR sticks for
the last 4 months with no problems.

One stick is generally a better idea, however, if you already have a stick
of 256, adding another is probably not a bad idea. Just avoid like the
plague using 2 sticks of SDRAM on these boards - I've had 2 of them with
very different revision numbers and neither of them liked 2 sticks of
SDRAM - they would only be stable when underclocked with 2 SDRAM.
