Hi. I just logged onto the Dell website to buy a PC for a friend and I'm a
little overwhelmed. I looking for a PC w/ XP Pro, that'll be used primarily
for Word processing, email, email, web browsing and capable of running
VISTA Home premium sometime in the future. Rock bottom price is not the top
priority. All suggestions are welcome.
What is the link to the CDell refurb sale store?

Thanks,

Tom

I think you'd like something from the OptiPlex line. They are solid
business-class machines and priced right. Getting XP (just checked) is not a
problem.

If I were buying a computer now, I'd seriously consider the OptiPlex 740.
(But I'm partial to AMD anyway. If you're not, the 330 or 755 are worth a
look.)

I bought one from here 6 months ago http://sterlingxs.co.uk/index.html
as far as I know a lot of them are surplus order from Dell
they are boxed bran new and have 3 years Dell warrantee
and you can actually phone them up if you want
which makes a pleasant change :-)
I'm very pleased with mine.
Have a look and compare prices with Dell site.

Of all the Optiplexes above...which model is more
energy effecient? More "green"?

Good points but she is a new user and i don't think she wants to go the
expense of a lap[top w/ monitor, etc.
I'll ask her.
