I have a Gateway Select 750. I currently have three physical hard
drives. The third one has started developing errors so I copied its
entire contents to one of the other (larger) drives and attempted to
remove the problem drive from the system.
I went into the CMOS and selected 'disabled' for that drive's
configuration. Then I disconnected the cables from the drive and
rebooted. During the reboot, I get the error message "Windows Protection
Error You must restart your computer" The computer hangs.
This occurs if I change the CMOS setting without unplugging the drive
cables, Disconnect the drive cables without changing the CMOS or both.
Anyone know what my problem may be?
Thanks,
Charlie
