wireless peer to peer

can this be done. i have an ethernet peer to peer. can i just buy a pci
card for pc and pc card for lappy? Emailed one shop who said i MUST have
either a hub or a router.

You need a wireless access point to make "contact" with another
system. The wireless NICs do not include this "feature" afaik.

My wireless can either be used as Peer to peer or use an access point.

The general consensus is that my local supplier is talking out of his arse.
as i don't need bands a and g i expect a b only card to be reasonably cheap.
can't even find one. only tri bands for £55 quid. youch!

opted for a wireless usb adapter for main pc (ebuyer own brand £31 inc
shipping). pci cards were dearer or the cheap ones stated that they
required a wireless access point. (airway buffalo)
