I am putting together a new system. Purchased an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe,
two WD 250 GB WD25000YD hard drives, AMD Athlon 64 FX-62, 2 Gig Corsair
memory, etc. I set up the 2 drives as RAID 0 on the nVidia SATA RAID
controller. I used the Windows RAID driver from the Asus CD that it put
onto a floppy. When I try to install Windows XP I press F6, I select
both the drivers shown (press S two times to load both) when Windows
asks for the SCSI driver, then Windows starts copying files. At some
point during this, it will stop and come up with "Cannot copy file
xxxxxx". Sometimes it might be at about 17%, sometimes 35%, etc. etc. I
have undone the RAID and installed to just one HD with no problem. I set
the RAID back up and it goes back to the same problem. I tried
downloading another driver set from nVidia, but have the same problem. I
also have Windows XP64 and tried installing it with the 64bit driver,
still same problem.

On my old computer I have an IDE RAID 0 setup running for years with no
problems. I liked the increase in speed it offered and want to do the
same with my new system. I have seen on the Internet other people with
the same problem with M2N32-SLI Deluxe and other Asus MB's with nVidia
RAID controllers. Has anyone found this same problem and/or a fix?

You have presumably done an intensive memory test?

I agree.....I had the same problem and it was due to a memory issue.
I ram memtest and one of my memory slots was bad.

Yes I have ran a memory test.
The problem only happens when trying to install to a RAID 0
configuration. Works fine when I install to just one drive.
Thanks for the response.

You did config the raid 0 in the nvidea utility prior to the win
installation?
having first set the appropriate bios raid settings?
