XP and 970CXI printer

I have a Dell 4500 with XP connected to a HP 970CXI printer.
When I try printing, the printer will print only half a page and
then start a second page with only partial data on it. Finally it
will spit out 1 or 2 pages with a line or two. Sounds like a
driver problem, but I've reloaded drivers a couple of times
and completely unloaded the HP software and downloaded
the latest off of the HP site for XP.
If I connect it to my Win98 machine, it works fine.
Any ideas on how I can get this HP970 CXI to work with XP

Try this site for instructions on how to completely remove and then
reinstall printer drivers. Follow the instructions exactly as given.

to seems to have all the information I need to get this
working. At least it's more than I've been able to come

I followed the instructions as you suggested and it
