I installed Vista as an upgrade to Windows XP.

Internet explorer won't play Yahoo videos. There is some error
message. I wish to reinstall internet explorer that came with Vista,
as I tried to do so from microsoft site, which told me you have
version that came with vista.

How do I go about doing that?

Thanks.

Not sure about Yahoo!, but youtube.com videos are all in Flash format.
Rather than hosing up IE7, why not try downloading and installing the latest
Flash player/Shockwave version:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

You might also check to be sure you have the latest version of Java Runtime
Environment installed...
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
It's probably not related, but having the latest version isn't a bad idea in
any event for web pages that need it.....

Then I'd bet money it is an IE security setting. Try a search and see if
someone else is seeing it.

Have no idea to what you're referring = "MSE" ?

There's no reason that I know of that IE7 in Vista (or in WinXP) shouldn't
play Yahoo! videos other than perhaps some sort of file damage/corruption
when you installed Vista - or - a security setting of some sort.

Again, you might attempt to repair IE7 from control panel/add-remove
programs.

Glad you resolved it.

We'd be happy to help, but without knowing what the error message IS, we
can't help.

I'd guess Yahoo requires a plug-in, likely Flash. It's probably asking
you to install it, which it will do for you.

Reinstalling IE is not a solution, nor possible.
