if anybody here has that combo can i please get a poll of your: idle: cpu temp/system temp
full load (close to 100% cpu utilzation rate for at least 15 minutes): cpu temp/system temp

Mine is:
idle: 44/35
load: 62/37

It's already been proven that IS7 boards measure voltage incorrectly,

I haven't seen this before-- can you tell me more about it or point me to a thread? The reason I ask is that my IS7 reports only -7.3V on the -12V line. I have a brand new power supply, so I'll be pissed if it's only giving me 7.3V. OTOH the system runs fine, so I haven't gotten out the voltmeter to check it. Thanks, A.

It's already been proven that IS7 boards measure voltage incorrectly, so why should we expect anything else for temperature.

Really? It seems my IS7 shows correct voltage (+/- 0.05-0.1V)

"Speaking of incorrect reporting, both Vre and Vddr are showing up too low in the HW Monitor, that is, manual setting of Vddr to 2.7V shows as
2.65 but our voltmeter gave us 2.705. The same goes for the Vre, which at 1.575 showed as 1.52 but read as 1.578 on the voltmeter."

Okay, but those are relatively small differences. From -12 to -7 is huge. Anyway I see you're getting similar readings to mine. I wonder if Abit will issue RMAs for this problem. Maybe they'll fix it at the same time as the audio problem...

Hi
On the IS7E with a 2.4P4
Idle: 55
Load: 61 (30 minutes running SETI@home)

On the IC7G with 2.6HT
Idle: 45
Load: 52 (30 mins running SETI@home)

Neither are OC'd

Very inaccurate, touching of the heatsink indicates there about the same temp, so I have been ignoring the higher temp. Also in the naive belief INTEL would provide a suitable sink and fan for thier CPU which have 3 yr gtees.

Jerry

when I was running a stock Intel cooler on a 2.26 (not a C model) I was tipping the scales up around 65 or so under full load and rarely dropped under 50 at idle. I put my Swiftech MCX-4000 cooler on there which came off my main machine when a Zalman Flower went on, and the temps are now down in the 45 to 47 range at idle and 55 to 58 under load.

system temp, if you are referring to the ambient sensor as opposed to the PWM sensor, is around 35 to 37

the negative voltage lines on newer mobo's are not used. there is nothing wrong with your board or PS. in fact, there was a post out there a while back that showed how to set Mobo Monitor up correctly for this board and the -12 volt line was set to monitor W83627HF BE7/KX7 and was then called VDDT and the -5 volt line set to the same monitor and called VTT. Even though they were both set to the same monitor, they read differently so I am not sure if that is something "smart" about Mobo Monitor or if there was a step I was missing.

you can also set Mobo Monitor to read the battery and standby voltages as well. Believe it or not, you set the monitor to the same monitor as above and call it Battery and that is what you get. you guessed it... same for standby (but call it standby...)

Errr,,,,,,,,,,

Ignore this reading. It is a ghost.

Using an outdated version of Hardware Doctor by an chance ?

Or an old version of BIOS ?

MINUS 12V is not available from any ATX power-supply.
See the ATX power-supply spec.

My IC7 with BIOS 1.5 (latest) has no such -12 voltage BIOS reading on the PC Health screen..

Neither does the latest version (2.71) of Hardware Doctor.

I do not know of any modern DDR ram which cannot cope with 2.8 volts. regards @ndrew

Andrew Hi
Sorry, Audio Problem? It's not a stutter when the unit starts up, as in the windows startup music, my IS7E is always doing it, I assume from your comment theres no fix?

Most of the sound once kicked off is great. the IC7G's I have sound brilliant, no stutter and a really rich sound.

Jerry

It's been widely reported in this NG that the first run of IS7 boards have a hardware audio problem bad enough to make the onboard sound useless for many customers. Actually, I haven't gotten around to testing mine out yet. But apparently Abit has acknowledged the problem and is issuing RMAs for it. They're supposed to have a fix out in a month or so.
