8 Simultaneous Inputs on an SB Live!

Discussion in 'Soundblaster Live' started by Andrea Zavareei, Jul 19, 2003.

  1. With the KX project driver, an excellent 3rd part driver for Sound
Blaster Live and Audigy cards, I can enable 8 simultaneous inputs in
it's ASIO driver. So I can now record 8 tracks at once! I use an SB
Live 5.1 Platinum with a live drive. 6 analog, 2 digital. The live
drive has 2 built in ADCs, and the card itself has 1. So I got the
aux2, the line2/mic2 and the spdif on the live drive and the line in
on the card, making a total of 4 stereo inputs, 8 discrete channels!
Using the KX ASIO driver in Nuendo I can record all 8 at the same
time! This is pretty amazing if you can't afford a 'real' sound card.
And I beleive the spdif input is 20 bit. I wonder if I might be able
to add another 2 digital with the cd digital(spdif) header on the card
itself. And maybe another 4 if I plug in my Live value too. Yippee!
