A7N8X-E Deluxe PIO problem

    Hi there,
    I've been running an A7N8X-E Deluxe for a while now along with an AthlonXP 2800+ and 512mb DDR PC3200 memory, and my HDDs simply won't switch from PIO to DMA mode. The HDDs I'm using are a 160gb Maxtor and 60gb Deskstar drive (i'm not sure on any mroe information than that i'm afraid)
    I've tried the registry fixes etc, but nothing seems to work. I'm willing to try everything again though as it's really annoying me so could anyone shed any light on possible causes of the problem?
