A7V266E Rev 1.xx Sound problem

    A7V266E Rev 1.xx with CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device (on-board) Athlon
    1533Mhz processor, Windows XP

    Am having severe problems with Mic recording -

    I need a "mixer.exe" with Mike Boost capability.

    I know one exists 'cos I downloaded and used it - worked perfectly. But it
    disappeared on next boot, and I've been trying now for 2 weeks to fix this
    problem - I cannot find the file either on Asus or CMedia site..

    Can anyone help, either with location of this file, or e_mail me with the
    file itself ?

    The "mixer" I lost is a 3-dimensional object, similar to small Winamp, and
    has a "mike boost" box. The driver I have installed - allegedly the latest -
    yields a 2-dimensional mixer with no mike boost box, with the consequence
    that the only way I can get a sound output is by shouting into the mike.
