A8N-E Sometimes starts for a few seconds, then shuts down.

    A8N-E Sometimes starts for a few second, then shuts down. Second
    press of power switch is required.

    This just started, after a year of working fine. Only happens
    randomly. Restarts from Win XP work ok.

    When it happens, the initial press of power switch starts fans &
    drives for about 2-3 seconds, then it shuts down. This is before the
    audible "beep" or anything being displayed. Pressing power switch
    again has resulted in a good startup.

    Is something failing here? Maybe a deteriorated electrical
    connection?

    Any pointers to possible problem much appreciated.

    Had the same problem. Turned out to be a defective powersupply!
