KT7-raid, 2x 256 MB PC133, Tbred @ 2222 MHz

MemTest-86 v3.0 reported a few errors in my mem in the range 250 - 253 MB (first DIMM). Does that mean that particular DIMM is unusable? Should I replace it?

The system is running fine though...

Mike,

?? Same error(s) locations in both 'cold'/'hot' condition ???

Try a '2nd opinnion' ...

Look for thier freebie memtester sftwr
==> http://www.simmtester.com/

Cant hurt ... mite help.
Memtest is typically correct.
CheckIt(oldie) was good too ... dont know 'where' they went, tho.

Can you slot_swop the two(2) mem_modules ...
which puts the errors up against the 512 limit,
with 'some' less chance of being 'used' ...
'test', yet again, to =ensure= the errors have moved ... find/tray-it/use a mem_usage 'meter' app , watch for usage over 90% . or, if both tests show "similar" ... replace the module ... with exact same mfgr/make/model/pt_no ... ... ( some mobo chip_sets dont like mix_mismatch ) ... if you're not willing to suffer the 'chance' of errors, .

In the situation of a module which developes errors, in 'time', raising the voltage a "tad" can appear to eliminate the errors ... but, like beer_cans/furnace_cement on mufflers ... wont last.

First try upping the memory voltage. With PC133 I have been abel to use 3.53 volts.

If that fails, you will need to back off of the memory overclock, or try less aggressive memory settings.

MemTest86 is showing that your system WILL fail if any application pushes your memory hard.

The system is running fine though...

Maybe.

Yes, I swapped them and the errors are now indeed moved. I leave it this way.

Maybe I can sell the one with the errors on ebay hehehe :)
