Hey all,

I have a Abit is7 and I am using only SATA drives connected to the onboard sata interface (non raid). I notice that I see no led activity on the cable hooked into the ide led port on the motherboard. Actually I do see activity but it's for my ide burners connected to the secondary ide channel. Is it me or did Abit miss the fact that a SATA native system may want to see activity for those ports. I checked and re- checked the manual but it seems there is no plug on the mb for this.

Comments?

Thanks.

Me too. Not yet found a cure for it.

Apparantly the SATA chip has an ouput for drive activity, I suppose if you have hands as steady as a brain surgeon you could solder some a pair of wires to them.

I would be just a little surprised if Abit doesn't have a connection to the SATA chip and the bios just isn't showing it. but I've been wrong plenty before!

No problem with led activity using ATA drives on the SATA port
