Adaptor to hook up CD-R burner (IDE) to La CIe SCSI external enclosure?

  1. I've got an old La Cie external SCSI CDR-CDRW burner (only 4X speed, as
I recall!) which I would like to use in order to power a Pioneer
DVR-107D that I've had in my G4 for awhile, as I'm going to throw a
newer Pioneer in the G4 that I just purchased.

I opened the La Cie in order to see if the Pioneer would fit into the
enclosure; while it will indeed fit, I don't know if I'll be able to
adapt the connectors so as to make it work. The cable going from the
burner to the La Cie SCSI enclosure is 50 pins, while the Pioneer has
    an IDE 39 pin strip.

Is there an adaptor which might be used in order to hook the IDE drive
up to the SCSI cable? If so, any idea as to where I could find
one/cost? Likewise, if this idea is simply one which won't work, I'd
appreciate knowing it sooner as opposed to later!!

    Much thanks!

  2. Actually, I suppose that the Pioneer might more accurately be described
as an "ADAPI" device, according to the new one I just got. I'm sure the
107-D would be classified as the same, instead of the IDE that I'd
    indicated.
    Sorry for any confusion!
