Any way around NF7-S/M gameport bug?

I can't get a sound card gameport to work because they all default to IO
0201 and as already common knowledge, that IO port is b0rked on the Abit MB
    for Nforce2.

IS THERE ANY WAY around this, short of getting a driver that can change the
IO to something else? Meaning has anyone ever been able to get a gameport
running on the default gameport IO on a NF7-M or S?

  2. I got one working on my NF7 v2....When I installed the board I put me
Creative Ensonique in so that i would have a gameport but I saw that the
device would not operate because there 'were not enough free resources'.
Then I cound my SB Live that had been missing and put that in too. Now the
game port on the ensonique is still outta commission, but the SB Live works

Short answer: install two game ports. If you only have one, you might be
able to install an imaginary one first, and then install your real one.
    Never tried it though.

    Mine doesn't have this problem. Turtlebeach SantaCruz + NF7-S v2. I use
the gameport for a steering wheel, and Soundstorm for sound, works
    perfectly, under WindowsXP.

This might be a PCI PNP bus arbitration issue, I suggest you reset ESCD in
bios or clear the bios completely to make it redetect everything.

The problem first arose with TYAN multi-cpu chipsets. These have to have an
APIC to function, and the Nforce also has an APIC. Disabling this doesn't
release the resources to solve the problem. If your using the recent Santa
Cruz drivers then these detect the resource conflict and move the gameport
address, without it the Santa Cruz also has the problem.

Did you try removing the Ensoniq? The Live is one of the few cards to have
had drivers released to fix the problem. Those drivers would move the
gameport addresses with or without the ensoniq.
