Aspire 1300 Dark Screen Possible Fix?

    The screen has gone dark/dull on my laptop as though the backlight is faulty. I have plugged the laptop into another screen and this too does not work.

    Is it a graphic card problem and if so where is it? or am I going down the wrong route?
