I was thinking about upgrading another version 1 KT7 raid MB. Back in April I did this with a XP 2200+ B core T Bred. I was looking for another one but did not see it on the site where I purchased the last one.

How about the CPU's above 2200? Does Bcore make any difference on these CPU"S? I was only able to get the first one working at the default 2000. I assume that's what I would get out of many XP CPU's on this board even those above the 2200.

If it makes no difference, then the retail version with the fan would be an option rather than an OEM CPU and a fan. The fan that I bought for the last one - Volcano 9 is very loud. Any suggestions for other quieter but reasonably priced fans?

All cpu's above the 2200+ are B cores. And you should have been able to get a little more than 2000MHz out of the 2200+ if it was a B core. Did you raise vcore when you tried to faster?

Vantec Aeroflow maybe. Not too loud and does a pretty good job cooling. About $20.
