ATI 8500DV and SiI RAID controller conflict

I just installed WinXP on my SY-P4I875P Dragon 2 Platinum, booting from 2
SATA Seagate 80G drives on the SiI 3112 controller with the RAID settings on
'stripe'. The video card during installation was a generic NVidea RIVA TNT2
64, and it booted up and ran just fine. I am trying to install an ATI AIW
8500DV /64 M, and the system recognizes the SiI drives, but not the RAID
setup, and says it can't locate the operating system. The same hardware set
up will boot and load from the XP, so I assume the problems is a conflict
with the RAID controller. Is there a solution to this problem, or do I have
to re-install the operating system on an IDE drive to be able to boot up and
    use this video card?
