Automount of shares "Dynamically"

    Hi,

    I am trying to automount shares in Tiger. All the hints I have found so
    far give ways of automounting when you first login. However this is not
    quite what I want.

    There are two Macs in my network (both Tiger). One is a laptop and is
    not always there, but it is the laptop that has the folders I wish to
    share. Is there any way for the OS to automatically detect when it is
    there, and then to mount the share automatically so they appear in the
    finder sidebar?
