    Hi,

Any help anyone can give on this problem would be greatly appreciated!

I have an ASUS P5V800-MX mobo with integrated SoundMAX audio. I have installed the driver (which is the latest available - I have checked on the ASUS website) and, although audio playback of MP3 etc is fine, I get a strange crackling/gurgling/distorted sound when I playback video.

I have tried different programs to playback videos (Nero, WMP) but still the same. I installed a bog standard Microsoft audio driver and the crackling disappeared, but I want to know how I can get SoundMAX to work.

    I have a P4 3Ghz, 1gig RAM, nVidea Geforce 6600GT...

I know I should probably get a separate sound card but I can't afford one at the moment so please help!

    Cheers,
