Battery Latch - - - Remove?

    I asked in the toshiba group and didn't get an answer


    My battery is totally dead. I'd like to just pull it out but I don't
    like that huge hole that leaves. Is it possible to remove the sliding
    latch to use to cover the Hole? If so how would I do it, I'm afraid of
    breaking it?

    It's a Toshiba Tecra 8100
